The event is being cancelled due to the increase of COVID-19 cases in the region.
Eduardo Lafforgue, President of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce and Tourism NOTL says that they tried to make a safe version of the event, but it wasn't possible.
"We hoped to make a safe version of the event, but it was decided to look for other options. Watch for the Icewine Trail at Niagara-on-the-Lake Wineries, for the best Icewine experience in 2021. The Village is expected to return to downtown in 2022!"
Lord Mayor Betty Disero commended the Chamber for pulling the plug on the event, saying this was the best decision in light of how the community is being impacted by the pandemic.
