The city says it has hired 10, with the help of its recruitment program, and there are plans to add another $1-million to recruitment efforts
There's some good news if you live in Welland, and you're looking for a family doctor.
The city says it has hired ten more, seven of those are from the United Kingdom, which means another 15,000 people should be able to find a family doctor.
This brings Welland's total to 34.
The city adds its recruitment efforts of financial incentives, started in June of 2023, means objectives have been met for this year, and it still plans to add another $1-million to recruit more.
So far this year, 39% of the 23 new doctors coming to Niagara have chosen Welland.
