Charges have been laid in a St. Catharines homicide investigation.
NRP officers responded to a reported assault at a home on Densgrove Road Friday evening, close to Vine Street.
They found the body of a deceased woman once they arrived and arrested a man at the scene.
A 60-year-old man from St. Catharines has been charged with first degree murder.
Police say the victim was also in her 60s, but her identity will not be released at the request of her next of kin.
