Memorial to honour St. Catharines firefighters who've died on the job
A memorial honouring St. Catharines firefighters who've died on the job is closer to reality.
The St. Catharines Club had its "Final Toast" Legacy and Community Event over the weekend, donating over $500,000 to 9-community groups, including the city.
A cheque was handed over to St. Catharines fire services for the memorial to be built in the City parkette, bordered by Rice, Carlisle and McGuire streets.
The campaign to raise money for the memorial started in 2021.
St. Catharines Club also donated to Wise Guys, Niagara Children's Centre, Hospice Niagara, and others.
