Police say they stopped a vehicle speeding excessively in Welland
Three men have been caught after police stopped a speeding vehicle in Welland and found large amounts of telecommunication wire.
On Friday, police stepped up patrols in response to ongoing thefts of hydro wire, and early Saturday morning, watched the vehicle doing 177kms in an 80 zone.
Police stopped it, found the wire, and arrested 28-year old Tyler Huggins of Port Colborne, 52-year old Michael Huggins of no fixed address, and 54-year old Stefan Vautour of Welland.
Tyler HUGGINS has been charged with the following offences.
Mischief Endangering Life
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Theft Over $5000
Drive Motor Vehicle While Performing a Stunt
Speeding
Michael HUGGINS has been charged with the following offences.
Mischief Endangering Life
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Theft Over $5000
Stefan VAUTOUR has been charged with the following offences.
Mischief Endangering Life
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.00
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Theft Over $5000
Fail to Comply with Probation
All three had bail hearings today.
