Police say one store employee hurt early Friday morning in Pelham
A violent robbery is under investigation by Niagara Regional police.
They were called to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Highway 20, in Pelham, at around 2:30, early Friday morning.
Police found that two unknown masked men had caused some damage, then forced their way into the store.
They confronted two men who were cleaning the store, and physically assaulted one of them. He suffered serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
Police add the suspects then smashed cabinets using a hammer, stole perfume, and fled.
The police K-9 unit was not able to find them.
One of the suspects is about 6'4, with a medium build, wearing a blue, parka jacket with a hoody over his head. The other suspect was wearing all black, with a red hoodie over his head.
Approximate damage to the store, or the amount of merchandise stolen, is not known.
