Police say a 1-year old dog was shot
Police are looking for a 26-year old Thorold man after a shooting in Niagara Falls.
They say it began after 3am, Saturday morning, in an apartment building on Jepson Street near Victoria Avenue.
Police found the suspect visited the occupants, and while there he attempted to show a gun that was in his waistband. However, it went off, hitting a 1-year old Husky dog. The suspect took off with the gun.
The dog was rushed to the vet in critical condition where it was stabilized.
Police used the K9 unit to find the suspect, but were not successful.
They are looking for Anthony Angoy, wanted for the following:
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowingly Not a License Holder
- Possess Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possess Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order X 2
Police are encouraging Anthony Angoy to contact a lawyer and surrender to police. He is considered armed, and the public is advised not to approach him, but call 911 if you know where he is.
