More Ontarians can soon begin booking their second COVID-19 shot.
Starting Monday, people 70 and older, as well as those who received a first shot of Pfizer or Moderna on or before April 18th, can book an appointment through the provincial portal for an accelerated second dose at mass vaccination clinics.
In addition, effective today, those same groups can begin getting second dose appointments through pharmacies and primary care settings.
Those who received a first AstraZeneca shot can also now schedule a second dose of either AstraZeneca, Moderna or Pfizer at a participating pharmacy.
The province is expanding second dose booking ahead of schedule due to an expected increased supply of shots.
Ontario is anticipating 4.7 million Pfizer vaccines in June and about 3.54 million in July.
The province has also received 193,000 Moderna doses.
