Trudeau government says will not lift the requirement for all non essential travellers entering Canada

While the U.S. land border is finally set to re-open to doubled dosed Canadian visitors, the return trip home will still be time consuming and costly.

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland confirming yesterday that all non essential travellers entering Canada, including Canadians will still have to show a negative COVID test result before they can re-enter the country.

Those tests can run up to $200 each.

Even as the latest wave of COVID-19 appears to be waning, Freeland says the benefits of the test requirement vastly outweigh the risks of doing away with it.
