If you live in Port Colborne, you could face a 3.87% municipal tax levy increase, or roughly $90 a year, after council just adopted the mayor's budget for 2026.
Mayor Bill Steele says it supports delivery of high-quality services, while investing in key priorities such as fire services, advancing critical water and wastewater services, and expanding health and wellness services.
Key investments in the Capital and operating budgets include $6-million for watermain lining over three years, and $3-million for a new ladder truck for the fire department.
City council passed 8-amendments to the budget on Tuesday, the mayor is responsible for presenting the budget to council by February 1st, under Strong Mayor powers.
