They say services needed for Niagara-on-the-Lake
Two Niagara politicians are asking the province for more nurse practioner services in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa and MPP Wayne Gates have written a letter to the Ministry of Health.
The say this is needed due to the aging population in the area.
"Seniors in our community deserve access to health care that is publicly available and easily accessible," said Gates. "As a popular tourist destination and place to retire, additional nurse practitioner services for Niagara-on-the-Lake are critical to help ensure everyone who lives, works or visits the community will have access to the care they need."
About 36 percent of the Town's residents are 65 and older.
