Police say 2 men caught after trying to steel cable in Welland, it happened early Monday morning
Two men have been arrested after the attempted robbery of some steel cable in Welland.
Police were called at around 5, yesterday morning, to the Centre Street and Harold Avenue area, over reports of a theft in progress.
Turns out that just after 3am, two men used a ladder to climb over fencing onto a property.
Police say the suspects then climbed onto the roof of a building, and cut about 70 feet of cable, but police were able to find them.
44-year old Sean Steele of no fixed address is charged with theft under $5,000, and breach of probation, and 50-year old Michael Huggins of Wainfleet is charged with the same.
Both remained in custody pending a bail hearing today.
