Officials say the 6.7-metre-long submersible only had 96 hours worth of oxygen when it went missing while searching for the Titanic wreckage Sunday morning.
NEWFOUNDLAND - Time is running out for crews to rescue the submersible that went missing while searching for the wreckage of the Titanic.
The OceanGate Titan only had 96 hours of oxygen supply when it dove into the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, south of Newfoundland, at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday. It lost contact with its mother ship less than two hours into the voyage.
Canadian and American crews have been searching for it ever since with ships, aircraft, and equipment. They have zeroed in on a remote site in the North Atlantic after hearing underwater sounds.
The 6.7-metre-long vessel is carrying five people and it's expected to run out of oxygen this morning.
