Niagara Regional police joined hundreds of other officers in Oshawa, for the funeral of Brandon Malcolm
The Niagara region represented today at the funeral service of OPP officer Brandon Malcolm, killed last month in a single vehicle motorcycle crash on the 401.
NRP Chief Bill Fordy, his deputees, and 24 NRP officers were in Oshawa, along with the NRP pipe band.
The officer's widow Vashti said he knew his calling as a police officer. "Of course that calling came with sacrifices. There were long nights, missed moments, and the constant worry that comes from loving someone who runs towards danger when everyone else is running away."
One of Brandon Malcolm's fellow officers spoke. "As we all know, this job shows us the worst of the worst, and one of the ways to get through it is have that one person to help you smile and laugh with when navigating tough times. Malcolm was my guy for this. We had been through it all together, and we were bonded for life."
Hundreds of police and emergency responders were there.
