Premier Doug Ford is asking residents not to light up campfires, as 52 wildfires continue to burn
Some bad news if you plan to go camping.
Premier Doug Ford is asking Ontarians not to light up campfires, due to wildfires and smoke.
At the moment, there are 52 wildfires in the province, and smoke from fires as far away as Quebec are lowering air quality here.
According to the Premier, about half of the blazes are due to lightning, and the rest are brought on by human activity.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry website shows 28 of the fires are not under control.
