This happened in 2024 in St. Catharines, there's a video police have released
Police are again appealing for public assistance to find those responsible for an arson in St. Catharines.
It was back on September 12th of last year when a vehicle drove by Castillo Shawarma, at around 3;20 in the morning, and stopped nearby.
Police say three people got out of the dark coloured 4-door car, and two walked to the restaurant with a gas can and set it on fire.
The suspects fled the Locke Street and Lakeport Road area in the car, and have not been identified since.
The business has not reopened.
Police believe the suspects were at a nearby gas station beforehand, and, police believe there are witnesses to this crime.
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- 4 Door Sedan
- Mat black or dark grey in color
- HID (High-Intensity Discharge) front head lights
- The instrument panel on the interior of the vehicle was illuminated in blue
- lights

- Male
Clothing:
- Light-colored baseball cap
- Long black sleeve top
- Black track pants
- Flip flop sandals
Suspect 2:
- Male
- Thin build
- Over 6’
- Tan skinned
Clothing:
- Gray jacket with black sleeves
- Black pants
- Black basketball shoes with gray and white soles
- Black mask
- Hood on his head
- Carrying the red jerry can
Suspect 3:
- Male
- Light skinned
- Thin build
Clothing description:
- Black jacket
- Black track pants
- Black running shoes
- Black mask
- Hood on his head
There was no one in the restaurant at the time of the incident.
