They say 21 people were arrested this month
21 people have been arrested by police for shoplifting in Niagara.
Over a 2-day period in April, police continued their Past the Point of Purchase anti-shopliftiing initiative in partnership with local retailers.
Police say 7-people were criminally charged, others were charged under provincial statutes.
Roughly $2,600 in stolen merchandise was returned to stores.
Police add since they started this in September, 111 people have been arrested, and over $20,000 in stolen merchandise recovered.
