This comes as Quebec enters sixth wave and hospitalizations increase in Ontario
A call by Niagara's Acting Medical Officer of Health on the province to increase COVID testing once again.
Dr. Mustafa Hirji tweeting out it is time to open testing again to anyone 50 plus and go back to routinely testing those with symptoms.
Hirji adds right now, people are getting very sick before they seek care, and by then it's too late for outpatient treatment.
He adds its time to test those 50 and older right away and get them treatment.
Meantime, two public health experts say Quebec is already riding the sixth wave of COVID-19, driven by the B-A 2 subvariant.
Ontario and British Columbia have also seen increased hospitalizations in recent days.
