Environment Canada says the area may get 30 to 50 mm of rain today
You might want to avoid going outside today.
Niagara is under a special weather statement, and Environment Canada is calling for 30 to 50 mm of rain.
The weather office says slow moving showers or thunderstorms are expected across the region today, and there could be flash floods and water pooling on roads.
If visibility is reduced on the road, drivers should slow down and watch for tail lights ahead.
A weather advisory has also been issued for the region.
According to Environment Canada, the area may get some funnel clouds today.
While funnel clouds are not typically dangerous, they could cause landspout tornadoes, which can topple trees, toss debris, and cause damage to roofs.
As well, a special air quality statement has also been issued.
High levels of air pollution will develop tonight, due to smoke from forest fires in Quebec and northeastern Ontario.
Conditions may improve for some areas on Friday.
