High winds could cause flooding today along the parkway.
The Niagara Parks Police tweeting out minutes ago, the Niagara Parkway will be closing from Queen Street in Niagara Falls to the Old Fort in the town of Fort Erie because of anticipated flooding caused by high winds over Lake Erie.
The force is asking everyone to avoid the area and drive safe.
The Niagara Region is under a special weather statement warning of winds today gusting to 80 km/h.
South Niagara is under a snow squall watch with up to 15 cm of snow possible today.
