City ranked #1 spot in the world by National Geographic magazine to see solar eclipse, that's on Monday, April 8th
A very impressive honour for the City of Niagara Falls, courtesy of National Geographic Magazine.
The city's president of tourism Janice Thomson says Niagara Falls is ranked the #1 spot in the world to witness the solar eclipse on April 8th.
She adds astronomers have determined this. "The maximum impact is going to be visible, in fact, it'll be darkness, for about 3 minutes. It's an emerging process beginning just after 2pm, and should be fully done by around 4:30pm."
She pointed to the eclipse's popularity, in terms of what people want to do this year.
"#11 is the eclipse, as an event, is considered in the top 100 items that you should put on your list of things to do this year, and the fact that it's right in Niagara Falls."
She says the city has been promoting this for over a year, and sees tremendous demand for hotels for that Monday.
