The city is sending out property taxes earlier
The City of Niagara Falls is getting ready for another potential Canada post strike.
The city tells us with a looming strike possible for May 22nd, it's implementing changes to this year's property tax billing timeline, to make sure residents receive bills on time.
To accommodate this, property tax bills will be mailed a week tomorrow, which is May 9th, one month earlier than usual.
Due dates of June 30th and September 30th will not change.
Canada Post and the union continued discussions yesterday, before collective agreements expire this month.
Last year's strike was suspended by the federal government to review key issues, the collective agreement extended to May 22nd.
