City of St. Catharines says it's time, after many suggestions but no consensus
City of St. Catharines feels it's time for Lock 1 in Port Dalhousie to finally be given a formal name.
Many groups such as Kiwanis Club, Rankin Construction, National Trust for Canada and Port Dalhousie Beautification and Works Committee have contributed to it.
Councillor Carlos Garcia pointed to how they get around disagreement on the name. "Staff recommended that we go through the council approved naming policy, and that way everyone will be able to express their opinion."
Council voted for that process to begin soon.
