Niagara Falls mayor says people running it felt it was time for a change
Coffee drinkers who like to sit and yak, solve the world's problems, will have to find a new place to do so if it's been at the Tim Horton's on Clifton Hill.
Mayor Jim Diodati says the people running it told him they'll be closing it soon, part of a business decision.
He was told it's one of the busiest in Canada. "And I asked why would they close it, and they said it's too many moving parts, it's been there for 20 years, they're ready for a change. It gives them more flexibility, than not have a franchise in there, they can do what they want with the space."
The mayor added he wasn't at liberty to give more detail on what'll go into that space, except that it'll relate to tourism.
"Most businesses that happen in the tourist area are the busiest in the country. That's the busiest Kelsey's, or Wendy's, or Tim Horton's... just by virtue that we've got millions of people in the tourism area gives those people a leg up."
