Several communities in Niagara to benefit from investment in high speed internet
The federal and provincial governments are helping expand access to high speed internet in parts of Niagara.
About $219 million is being provided to increase in over 300 communities in Ontario, including thirty projects in Niagara.
Municipalities that will benefit from the investment include Wainfleet, Grimsby, Lincoln, Pelham and West Lincoln.
Rogers has been selected as the provider for the projects.
Niagara Centre MP Vance Badawey says this will help ensure local families and businesses can connect to essential online services.
"Providing reliable Internet access is especially important for rural communities to prosper in our increasingly digital world," said Vance Badawey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services and MP for Niagara Centre.
"This investment by both levels of government will ensure families, businesses, and farms in rural Niagara can connect to essential online services and enjoy the additional economic opportunities made available through high-speed Internet."
These projects are part of an existing partnership between Ontario and Canada
