A downtown St. Catharines landlord has been convicted of violating building and fire codes.
An investigation found there were building code violations, missing smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and other infractions at two downtown properties.
Due to problems at a St. Paul Street address, the landlord was charged with Failing to Comply with an order, and fined $7,500.
Additional fines and charges were brought about for problems in a building on Page Street.
The landlord must pay $25,000 total, and serve two years probation.
