We spoke with NDP candidate Brian Barker today, as we continue to profile the candidates running for election in Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls NDP candidate Brian Barker is once again running for election.
Barker, who is President of the Niagara area Elementary Teacher's Federation of Ontario, ran his first campaign for the riding in 2019.
Barker says he was drawn to the NDP because he feels the party stands up for average citizens.
"The NDP has always been about standing up for the little guy, in terms of making sure that everyday working Canadians prosper."
He says key issues heading into the election include affordability and housing.
"One of the big things here in Niagara here I think is the housing crisis. In 2015, the average price of a home in Niagara Falls was $239,000 and the average price today is $693,000."
