It joins Pickering in asking the province
Grimsby has joined Pickering in asking the provincial government for reimbursement of more than $400,000 incurred while working on the now-reversed Greenbelt land removals in their communities.
Premier Doug Ford admitted last month it was a mistake to remove 15 parcels of land for housing, which is now the subject of an R-C-M-P investigation.
But Pickering, home to the largest of the Greenbelt parcels, and Grimsby say they spent a lot of money and staff time working on those plans.
The government did not immediately say how it would respond to the requests.
