Gas Prices Forecast to Climb Again

Some Niagara gas stations inching close to the $2.00 a litre mark

Still no end in sight to the pain at the pumps with a leading energy analyst predicting gas prices could rise another 5 cents.

Dan McTeague with Canadians for Affordable Energy says if Russia decides to intensify its assault on Ukraine, we can expect another jump.

He also notes gas prices typically rise around the May long weekend, which is viewed as the unofficial start of the busy summer travel season.

British Columbians are feeling the most pain at the pump.

Vancouver is seeing $2.22 per litre and Victoria residents are paying $2.17 per litre.

Prices in Niagara range from around $1.90 a litre to $1.99.
