Biden administration announces new rules for travellers
President Joe Biden is imposing a new round of public health measures that will require Canadians and all foreign visitors who travel to the states by air to get a COVID test even if they are fully vaccinated.
The test can be no later than the day before their scheduled departure.
For now there is no mention of requiring COVID tests from travellers who cross into the U.S. via the land border.
Right now, Canada has exempted American visitors from its new rules requiring all foreign air travellers to get tested upon arrival at airports and to self-isolate while awaiting the results.
All this comes as government's try to keep the Omicron variant from establishing a foothold.
