Falls to Light Up for Pride

Niagara Falls will light up this evening in celebration of Pride Month.

The Canadian Horseshoe and American Falls will illuminate in rainbow colours tonight for 30 minutes at 9:00, 10:00 and 11:00.

Today is the 52nd anniversary of the Stonewall riots, which is considered a key moment for the awareness and progress of gay rights.

In the Greenwich community of New York City, members of the gay community protested a police raid at the Stonewall Inn.

On the first anniversary of the riots, the first gay rights marches took place in major American cities.
