The NRP is warning local business owners after noticing a rise in the number of counterfeit bills circulating in the Region.
It has investigated 12 incidents regarding fake American money since September and most of them were in the Niagara Falls tourism district.
They were all $50 or $100 bills.
Police say you should be extra cautious while verifying American cash.
