Booster shot appointments at public health clinics also booked up
Plenty of frustration to go around as booster shots open up to residents 18 plus and cases of COVID soar.
Niagara's Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Mustafa Hirji noting on Twitter, " There's a trend of promising everything right now. Unfortunately, supplies & capacity are limited, & #Omicon is coming fast."
Niagara Public health tweeting out yesterday all available booster shot appointments for adults at their clinics have been filled right now.
Anyone trying to book is asked to keep checking for new dates on the provincial vaccine booking portal.
But keep in mind some pharmacies and doctors are also offering the booster shot.
As well, COVID test sites in Niagara can’t keep up with demand.
Public Health tweeting out the sites are experiencing an unprecedented surge.
Health officials say “If you have symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive using a rapid test or have been exposed to a positive case, please self isolate."
You are advised to go the region's website for instructions on what to do while you wait to be tested.
