An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Brock University.
Niagara Region Public Health confirms that twelve cases in student residences are part of this outbreak.
The University has moved from Brock Stage 2 (Control/Red) to Brock Stage 1 (Lockdown/Grey).
As a result, the few classes that were being offered on campus have moved to online until at least Monday, April 5th.
On campus common areas, such as athletic facilities and the James A. Gibson Library, have temporarily closed while contact tracing continues.
The school says that the outbreak looks to be centered around student social activities over the past week.
A number of students living in residences are now isolating in on-campus, self-contained quarantine residence units set aside as part of the school's pandemic planning.
Public Health and Brock University are assuring the public that there has been no exposure to the site of the upcoming vaccination clinic.
Public Health has exclusive use of the clinic site, which is separated from the rest of the university.
