Toronto police say it happened this morning, after an officer was hit by a car
Toronto police say a 12-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after he allegedly hit an officer with a stolen car during an incident that also saw police open fire.
Police say they responded to a reported vehicle theft near O'Connor Drive and Donlands Avenue around 1 a-m, and an officer was hit by a car as the driver tried to flee.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit says it's not yet clear whether the officer fired at the car before or after he was hit.
The S-I-U says both the officer and the boy were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the incident.
Police also say there was another 12-year old boy and 13-year old boy in the car, one of them got away.
