Alberta is staying put, after voting overwhelmingly in favour to stay in Canada.
In a historic referendum Monday, most voters chose to remain part of the country that formally created Alberta as a province 121 years ago.
With about one million votes counted in early returns, about 76 per cent per cent of Albertans said yes to Confederation.
Premier Danielle Smith promised there would be no followup referendum for the rest of her United Conservative Party government's mandate.
She's set to give a televised address tonight.
